Taking a Fun Motorcycle Ride to Help Others

The concept of these kind of motorcycle rides sounded very good, so I put it to the test. I participated in my first benefit ride and it was an awesome experience. In this case, we were riding to help raise money for a local chapter of the Disabled American Veterans in York County, SC to help pay for a new passenger van.

NHRA Motorcycle Drag Racing at Charlotte

Unfortunately, not all went well for Valerie Thompson at the end of the track during qualifying on Friday. She was unable to get her Buell Pro Stock motorcycle stopped at the end and became the first person ever to run into the sand trap beyond the shut-down area at the new ZMax Dragway.

Motorcycle and scooter theft is on the rise as is the number of motorcycles and scooters being sold. According to National Insurance Crime Bureau Statistics in the US, a motorcycle is stolen every 7.4 minutes! The states with the most motorcycle thefts have been California, Florida and Texas.
